Easy Rider (1969) Directed by Dennis Hopper
- A story about two guys from California roadtripping on hallucinogenics to try to get to Mardi Gras in New Orleans.
- This famous, counter-culture film was the first to use a soundtrack with music taken from the editor’s record collection and used songs from The Jimi Hendrix Experience, The Band, The Byrds and Steppenwolf. The licencing subsequently amounted to 1 million dollars, which was more than the budget of the film.
- Also the first film to use real drugs on the set! Dope

24 Hour Party People (2002)
I haven’t seen this yet but I’m dying to. It’s about the music scene that exploded in Manchester, England (Joy Division, Sex Pistols, Rave Culture) and mainly based around Tony Wilson. If you love music history put this on your list.
